Add Skill
A skill in this context is a mix of technical and soft skills needed for a job. For instance, a programmer may have technical skills in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. A chef may have technical skills in cooking techniques, such as sautéing, grilling, or baking. Soft skills, on the other hand, are interpersonal skills that enable an individual to effectively communicate and collaborate with others. Examples of soft skills include communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and leadership.
These skills may need to be refreshed periodically.
These skills are assigned across many different Skills Management Programmes (a type of learning programme.)
Instructions
Go to Learning Library › Skills.

Select the Add Skill button.

Add details about each skill. Remember the repetition period for skills that degrade over time and will need refreshing.

If Learning Resources are linked to each skill (i.e. learners will need to complete them in order for that skill to be refreshed) then add relevant prerequisite learning resources to the skill.

Some skills make be linked, for instance an life saving swimming skill when achieved, should also achieve the basic and intermediate skills. Linking skills in this way will save both learners and management time.
Look at Skills Monitoring Programmes to see how ‘Skills’ are monitored across an organisaton.
