Add a new version of a learning resource
Versions let you update an e-learning course to a new package and keep the earlier package, so you can switch back. Learners get the version that is live.
Add a new version
- Go to Learning Library › Learning Resources, find the resource, open its Actions menu and choose Edit.
- In the Learning Resource Type: "e-learning" section, find Active Version near the bottom of the section and press the green + button (Create new version).
- In Version, type a number that is not used yet, for example 2.
- At the top of the same section, under Learning Resource Zip File, choose the zip file of the new version.
- Press Save new version and wait while the files upload. The new version is now saved, but learners still get the previous version.
- Press Save and Close. The new version is now live.
If learners should start the course again on the new version, tick Reset Learning if the previous version is In Progress or Completed before you press Save and Close.
Switch to a different version
- Open the resource with Actions › Edit.
- Use the left and right arrow buttons next to Active Version until it shows the version you want.
- Press Save and Close. That version is now live.
Delete a version
- Open the resource with Actions › Edit and use the arrow buttons to show the version.
- Press the red − button (Delete selected version), then Delete permanently. The files of that version are removed and cannot be recovered.
You cannot delete the live version. Switch to another version first.
